“Gandhi & Design”

Celebrating the wisdom of wholeness

The International Open Elective is a two-week long multidisciplinary series of workshops. The theme of these electives is updated every year to bring in the emerging and relevant areas of knowledge to the students across NID's Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru campuses. The participants are second-year students of the Bachelor of Design programme, the first-year students of the Master of Design programme from NID and exchange students from our MoU partner institutions present in the campus during that moment. Every year the IOE invites proposals from design educators, researchers and practitioners internationally as well as from Indian and NID-MOU partner institutes to come and offer workshops at NID for a two-week duration.

The National Institute of Design (NID) www.nid.edu is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multidisciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
